Mother is Hiding

We wanted to play

but the snow was too deep

so inside our house

we were told we must keep.

We painted with brushes

in colors so bright

but boredom soon took us

we started to fight.

With brushes in hand

we started a chase

paint splishing and splashing

all over the place.

My hair is now orange

the walls are now blue

the mess that we started

amazingly grew.

Her face red with anger

our mother ran quick

her face then turned purple

we thought she was sick.

Bundled and swaddled

in snow we now play

our mother is hiding

outside we must stay.
