Sometimes we feel dragged around
. . . tied up
. . . tied down.
Hidden sorrows bitterly drowned.
The air is filled with constant chat
Always saying – “be this, not that.”
We start to feel like a worn doormat.
We need to learn to look inside
Behind facades we need not hide
Instead be who we are with pride.
For only then, shall we truly shine.
What is important – only we can define
No air-brushed dolls on an assembly line.
We may struggle
With the burdens we carry
But the lives we live
Can be extraordinary.
It’s all in how we choose to see
Is the glass half full – or is it half empty?
