The Thankful Beggar . . .

street_beggar

Dreams may not have led me here.
My head, I lay on bed austere.
But each day as I rise from sleep,
From my bed, I quickly leap.
For I find myself –a king of kings
Despite not having worldly things
For simple, though, my life may seem,
I still have a place to sleep and dream.
So worry not, for where I lie
But remember as you pass me by
Those who are the most content,
Are thankful for each blessing sent.
