Where Prejudice Lives

Black, putrid heart be gone
I’m tired of your web of lies
Where prejudice lives
Where prejudice dwells
And spoken words cannot disguise.

We say we cry for broken man
And in our heart we feel it well
Yet prejudice lives
And prejudice dwells
No matter what story we try to sell.

My heart cries for humanity
But yet they fall on deafened ear
For prejudice lives
And prejudice dwells
And in our prejudice we cannot hear.

Prejudice should be destroyed
And yet our stories must be told
For prejudice lives
And prejudice dwells
If only hearts could be so bold.

My heart craves for a lasting cure
Shall I tear beating heart from chest
Where prejudice lives
Where prejudice dwells
Betrays love of man – my heartfelt quest.

Please forgive my cry in shame
For truths that burn and cause me pain
Where prejudice lives
Where prejudice dwells
If truth be told – we are the same.
