APED – Prompt 52: Write of Love Upon Your Days

This poem was written for A Prompt Each Day, a daily dose of inspiration.  For today’s prompt – we were given ten words to inspire our writing (see below).  I usually try my best to use most of them.  Today I was able to use seven.  I hope you like what I came up with.

Trust not – what your heart desires

Nor thoughts you’re afraid to speak

Judge not others – for it requires

More than a careless peek.

Light the way that others tread

But not with fire and flame

For hearts shall wilt in fiery heat

But starlight guides the same.

Simple truths cannot be forced

Strange hearts refuse to see

But live a true and honest life

And the view shall set them free.

“Innocent” looks can burn real deep

More than your words can say

Consider what your actions reap

Your heart they do portray.

Write of love upon your days

In every word and deed

To grow a thriving field of flowers

You only have to plant a seed.
